Author Guidelines

All manuscripts submitted to Journal of Global Health Care Systems must be prepared according to style specified in the 6th edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA Manual 6th edition).

I. Articles Writing Style All written work must be in the third person, active voice, and in standard American English. All work must be easy to read and easy to understand. Use straightforward sentences, to help readers understand the concepts presented. Written work should be comprehensible to all readers, regardless of their areas of specialization and academic background. Articles must have sufficient introductory material and must be relevant to practice, stressing meaningful application of principles to important problems. Papers may include tables, drawings, charts, or photographs.

Paper Length Limit length of article to 10,000 words (25 to 30 double-spaced typewritten pages, or 12 to 15 pages in the final journal format). Each figure and table accounts for approximately 300 words.

Title Page Use a short informative title (title/subtitle 50 letters maximum) on title page. To facilitate blind review, remove names and affiliations from the cover page. Instead, enter all the co-authors names and affiliations in the online submission system. Do not include names and contact details on the actual manuscript.

Abstracts and Keywords The article abstract (between 120 and 250 words, including keywords) must have the following four sections: (a) introduction, (b) method, (c) results, and (d) discussion.

Text The article must have six parts as follows: (a) introduction, (b) background, (c) method, (d) results, (e) discussion, and (f) conclusion. Arrange the submission in the following order: cover sheet, title page, abstract and key words, article, acknowledgment, biographical note, reference list, figure captions, tables. Do not use text footnotes. Include extra explanatory material as an appendix.

Abbreviations and Terminologies Spell out and define all abbreviations and new terminologies when first used in the text.

References and Citations In the text, cite work following the style recommended in the APA Publication Manual (6th ed.). The reference list must be compliant with APA style. Submit each manuscript as a separate file.

Biographical Note Include a biographical sketch (current position, prior significant professional experience, technical interests, education, important activities, and professional affiliations) of all authors (65 word short CV).

II. Commentary and Rejoinders; Regular Forum; Research Notes and Reports; and Book Reviews The JGHCS solicits submission to commentaries, rejoinders, reactions to recent research and book reviews. While the above general format applies, for length and other specifics, prospective contributors are asked to contact the Editor.

III. Evaluation The JGHCS is a peer reviewed journal. All manuscripts are evaluated by at least three reviewers from different disciplines. The paper evaluation is double-blind and anonymous: neither the reviewers nor the authors are aware of each other's identities.

IV. Disclaimer The publisher and editorial team make every effort to see that no inaccurate or misleading data, opinion, or statement appears in this journal, the data and opinions appearing in the articles and advertisements herein are the sole responsibility of the contributor or advertiser concerned. The publisher, the editorial board, editors, and their respective employees, officers, and agents accept no responsibility or liability whatsoever for the consequences of any such inaccurate or misleading data, opinion, or statement.

The editorial board reserves the right to reject any materials submitted and to make editorial decisions to accepted material. Authors are responsible for the opinions expressed by contributors.




Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  7. Format all work according to 6th Edition of the APA Manual

If you do not have funds to pay, the people at the JGHCS will waive the fee. We do not want fees to prevent the publication of worthy work.
